The charming Bizeljsko Castle is nesting on top of a rocky hill, surrounded by vineyards.
Unfortunately, after it was nationalised in 1945 it is being let to decay, however it is still wort a visit to appreciate its Renaissance and Baroque features, admire the beautiful rectangular, arcaded courtyard surrounded by four two storey wings, spend some moments in silence in the church of St. Hieronymus from the early 17th century and walk through the chambers with the remains of stucco from the late 18th century and decorative wall paintings.
The highlight of the visit is the wine cellar where you can taste organic local wines and homemade cold cuts.
